Write a Letter!
I want to challenge you to write a letter! You are sure to put a smile on someone’s face quicker than anything else by writing a few words of endearment to someone who matters to you, placing a postage stamp on an envelope, and dropping the letter in the mail. I was so touched yesterday when I saw my six-year-old nephew writing letters to his classmates. He knows that I love to make cards, and he has even helped me on occasion. (We had a blast making this YouTube video.) I guess my talking about cards all of the time has rubbed off on him.
He had all of his crayons, paper, and stickers spread out on my mom and dad’s kitchen table. He chose stickers that matched the personalities of his best friends to decorate his cards and wrote things like, “Dear Max, You are my best friend,” and “Dear Dakota, You are so silly.”
How fun would it be if his little friends also wrote letters back to him? They could all be summer pen pals. Wouldn’t that be adorable?? Maybe if we all write a letter we can officially start a #snailmailrevolution. I mean, look at what I received in the mail today. Three, yes THREE hand-addressed cards! I can’t tell you the last time that has happened.
When was the last time you wrote a letter?
